Strikingly, increasing the nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) pool by nicotinamide riboside (NR) can accelerate wound healing and macrophage migration, which is partially achieved through PGE2 synthesis and signaling as well as the function of the NAD+-dependent sirtuin, SIRT3.
